Ajay Kumar founded Jakhu Construction & Drywall to bring a more hands-on standard of finishing to Vancouver Island — the kind where the person who quoted your job is the same person who walks it when it’s done.
That means every site is set up to be worked cleanly, every coat is checked before the next one goes on, and every job — from a single patched wall to a full commercial build-out — gets finished the way we’d want it finished in our own home.

Ajay Kumar has worked in the drywall industry since 2021, developing hands-on experience and a strong understanding of quality workmanship and project coordination. In April 2025, he founded Jakhu Construction & Drywall as a sole proprietorship. As the business continued to grow, it was incorporated on May 13, 2026, as Jakhu Contracting Ltd.
The company was built on a straightforward principle: specialize in drywall, develop a dependable crew, and treat every project as if our name depends on it — because it does. Ajay remains personally involved from the initial quotation to the final walkthrough, helping ensure clear communication, reliable scheduling, clean job sites, and consistent workmanship.
Based in Nanaimo, Jakhu Contracting Ltd. works with homeowners, builders, developers, and general contractors on repairs, custom homes, multi-family developments, and commercial projects across Vancouver Island and throughout British Columbia.
