Service 1
Drywall installation
We supply and install drywall for new home builds, renovations, additions and commercial projects. Every board is measured, cut and set for a tight, clean foundation before taping begins — because a bad board job cannot be saved by good taping.
Board selection matters more than most people expect. Standard board is fine for a bedroom. Bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements want moisture-resistant board. Garage common walls, multi-family party walls and commercial assemblies need fire-rated board to a specified assembly. We spec what the room actually needs and tell you why.
We work directly with builders, general contractors and homeowners, fitting our schedule into yours without slowing the trades behind us.

Drywall installation is the process of measuring, cutting and fastening gypsum board to framing to form the walls and ceilings of a room. Jakhu Drywall installs standard, moisture-resistant and fire-rated board for new home builds, additions, renovations and commercial projects across Vancouver Island.
Service 2
Taping & finishing
A smooth wall is only as good as the tape job underneath it. Our finishers run multiple coats, feather every seam flat, and sand to the finish level your project calls for — no ridges, no bubbles, no callbacks.
The finish levels are not marketing language, they are an industry standard. Level 3 suits heavy texture or areas that will not be closely viewed. Level 4 is the standard for most flat-painted residential walls. Level 5 adds a skim coat over the entire surface and is what you want under gloss or semi-gloss paint, or on any wall that catches raking light from a window or fixture — the places where a Level 4 finish will show every seam.
If you are not sure which level your job needs, ask on the walkthrough. Paying for Level 5 in a closet is wasted money, and specifying Level 4 on a feature wall with a west-facing window is a callback waiting to happen.

Drywall taping and finishing is the process of covering board seams and fastener heads with tape and joint compound, then sanding smooth so the wall is ready for paint. Finish quality is graded Level 1 to Level 5. Jakhu Drywall finishes to any level, including Level 5 for critical lighting and gloss paints.
